Flat box with sliding lid and mini tiles.

Box (174x277x47mm) is Chinese. The flat and rectangular box is made of handsome rosewood. In the sliding lid silver characters are incised. One side panel has clearly been repaired.

Tiles (19x24x12mm) are Chinese. They are made, through and through, of a dark yellow synthetic material. The engraving is of top quality. There are four spare tiles and four jokers. There are also four flower tiles plus four tiles with the standard cat, mouse, cock and caterpillar.

The set, as usual for its kind, has no counters, dice, wind indicators and instruction manual.
